Për shkak të shijes së ëmbël dhe brendësisë së kuqe ngjyrë rubini, panxhari është një nga përbërësit më të dashur në ushqim. Por njëkohësisht është edhe arma sekrete për energji dhe ndihmon në luftën e organizmit kundër kancerit. Panxhari i kuq përmban nivel të lart të nitrateve, madje 20 herë më shumë se çdo perime tjetër. Studimi i kryer në universitetin “Queen Mary’s”, në vitin 2010, ka treguar se si vetëm një gotë prej 250 mililitrash lëng panxhari të kuq në ditë e ul shumë tensionin e gjakut për disa orë. Hulumtimi i ri ka treguar që 600 ml të këtij lëngu e mban tensionin e ulët dhe mbi gjashtë orë. Po ashtu shkencëtarët konsiderojnë që redukton shkallën e vdekshmërisë nga sëmundjet kardiovaskulare për 10 për qind. Studimi i kryer në universitetin “Exter” ka treguar se si nitratet po ashtu rrisin qëndrueshmërinë. Testi ka treguar se si të rriturit që pinë 500 ml të këtij lëngu në ditë mund të ushtrojnë 16 për qind më gjatë se ata që nuk kanë konsumuar lëngun e panxharit të kuq. Por panxhari më së shumti njihet me atë që përdoret në luftën kundër kancerit. Përbërësit që i përmban kjo perime ngadalësojnë zhvillimin e tumorit në prostatë dhe gji për 12.5 për qind.
